Davis turns 9!

Davis is 9!

We had a big birthday party for Davis about a week before his actual birthday since it was so close to Thanksgiving. We reserved the church gym and had the boys do competitions for prizes and played the big Saran Wrap ball game. I think the boys had a great time. There were a few kids who ended up shedding some tears of disappointment when they didn't win, but overall it was great.

On Davis's actual birthday he chose to go to Tucanos for dinner. After that, it was home for presents and cake! He got the double shot basketball hoop and basketball shoes he wanted.

We sure love our Davis. Such a great kid and we are so lucky to have him in our family. He never asks for much, is easy going, smart, loves to pretend like he's asleep so he'll get carried, can make friends with just about anyone, and loves playing all types of games with family and friends.

Davis's 9-year-old questionnaire:

Molly gets pierced ears!

Molly had been asking for awhile to get her ears pierced, and I felt like she was ready. We ended up going with a few friends from our neighborhood and I think she liked having company there and it helped her feel a bit more brave. She did great! No tears and happy with her new studs!

Halloween 2022

Halloween was pretty awesome this year. Our cast included:

Molly as Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus

Bode as Rooster from Top Gun

Davis as Owen from Jurassic Park

and Jackson as Beavis.

The kids looked so great this year! Their costumes were relatively easy, which was so nice.

We also had a cute, fluffy cowboy

and I dressed up as "The More You Know" ad campaign from my youth! I was quite proud of my makeup.

Molly and her two friends as the Sanderson sisters was seriously my favorite thing ever. They were darling together!

Trick or treating was a blast and much candy was collected and eaten! We made sure to stop by our neighbor Amy's house for homemade donuts.

Happy Halloween!

Fall sports round up

With fall came another round of sports and very busy schedules. Molly played soccer on an all-girls 1st grade team. She also got to do the mini cavettes dance camp and perform at halftime during one of the high school varsity football games!

Davis stayed busy by playing on his same soccer team. They had a great season! He also had a blast playing flag football, but for some reason I don't have any pictures.

Bode had sort of given up soccer in order to play football with less conflicts, but a AA NUCS soccer team ended up offering him a spot on the team and he took it. I let the coach know he would miss a lot, but they still wanted him on the team, so that was fun for him to still get to play soccer. His team we loved broke up last summer, but he was still able to play with a couple of his friends from the old team.

This fall meant lots and lots of football. Bode loved football this year. He made the A team again and they had an amazing season. Sean also helped as an assistant coach, which was busy, but fun for Bode. Conditioning all summer, lots of practices, and lots of games. The boys ended up winning the 6A championship which is a huge deal! Very proud of all of them and their hard work. It was such a fun season to watch. Bode played safety and kicker and did a great job at both.

For Jackson, he finished up his 2nd mountain biking season this fall, and also played tennis, and lacrosse. He continues to make lots of progress in all three! His growth in tennis is pretty impressive and their lacrosse team had a really good fall season.

His arms are always black and blue during lax season!
