I was in a meeting at work a few weeks ago and the CEO of my company told us he thinks it is a shame that some people still do not take advantage of new technologies... especially when it comes to the Web. Things such as networking sites, blogs, etc. His speech got me thinking. I feel like I have kept up fairly well-- I am on facebook, joined LinkedIn and even joined Good Reads (thank you Heidi), an online club that reviews books. I knew a blog was next on my list. It's a great way to keep in contact with family and friends and share opinions and insights with others.
I waited to start this blog until I felt like I had a good idea of the types of things I wanted to include. No offense to those of you who enjoy posting what you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, but I'm hoping this will be more than an online diary. Now I should mention here that I share ownership of this blog with Sean, but seeing as he's the math/science guy and I am the english nerd of the family, I'm guessing most of the posts will come from me-- hopefully we will collaborate on many together. While we definitely plan to include posts on our personal lives, we would also like to post on current events, news and really anything that strikes our fancy. Basically, anything goes. We can be pretty sarcastic so try not to be offended! Wish us luck!
