Davis gets a haircut!

Davis had been hinting for awhile that he might be ready to cut off his signature shaggy hairdo. We made an appointment and he decided to go for it. I couldn't even picture him with a different haircut, but it turned out SO CUTE! The girl who cut it did such an amazing job and I think he looks so handsome. I think he feels pretty great about it, too.

Bode wins Battle of the Books

Bode's team won battle of the books for the second year in a row! They carry on the legacy of the original "Nerd Herd" (the group Jackson was in that also won) as the "Jr. Nerd Herd." They even beat the teachers in the student/teacher battle assembly, which was so fun. Bode sort of crammed in most of his reading a few weeks before the deadline, but it worked because he remembered everything and did really well.

The boys moved on to compete against the winners of the other schools and did really well. They didn't place, but did so well and only missed a few questions total in all of their battles!

Bode in the school play: Alice in Wonderland

Bode decided to try out for the school play again this year and was cast as a white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. He did such a great job! I am so proud of him for learning his lines and going for it. He learned his lines all on his own and I really didn't do anything other than help him coordinate his costume and take him to play practice. I love when my kids do things outside of the norm and stretch themselves. He's such a sports nut, so it's cool to see him doing something different. I saw Bode's confidence grow and he really did such an awesome job each night. I was really impressed with the makeup they did this year!

Backstage with some of his friends in the play:

Bode had lots of support from family and friends who came to watch him!

One of my favorite things was seeing a big group of his friends coming to support him and after the show chanting, "Bode! Bode! Bode!" in the hallway. I'm so grateful for this group of boys and the friendship they have shown him. I'm glad opportunities like a school play exist because of the hard work and time people put into making it possible.

Jackson's Winter Bantam basketball

Jackson had a great winter Bantam season this year. His team started out sort of rocky in the fall, but they kept improving and did really well in the winter. They ended up taking first place in the winter Bantam tournament! It was really fun to see he and his team succeed. After the championship game, we rushed to the Marriott Center to watch American Fork High School win the state championship. It was a fun ending to a fun night and season.
