First days of school for all!

Well, this year we have a 5th grader, 3rd grader, Kindergartener, and a new preschooler! This means I have two days a week with 3 hours where I am kid free!

Jackson loved his teacher so much last year, he wanted to request the same teacher again. He was in a 4th/5th grade split class with Mr. Farnsworth. I was a bit worried about how it would go last year, but it was awesome and ended up being his favorite class in school so far, so I had no problems requesting his same teacher again. Mr. Farnsworth just seems to get Jackson and he really emphasizes reading, which is perfect since Jackson is a huge book worm.

I was really praying for a good experience for Bode for school this year. He enjoyed last year, but we were looking forward to some change for his 3rd grade year. He ended up getting a teacher new to our school (not new to teaching) and he has had a great year so far. I am so happy he is having such a good experience.

Davis was SO excited to join his brothers at the same school this year. I was excited too! No more driving all the way out to his preschool in Lehi! The teacher Jackson and Bode had for kindergarten retired last year. We loved Mrs. Richey, but now love Mrs. Ericson too! Davis is loving school so far and loves going every day and seeing his friends.

Molly has been talking about going to preschool for a really long time. I had a really hard time deciding if I should put her at the preschool I put the other boys at for their first year or if I should put her in my friend Amy's preschool she runs here in our neighborhood. After months of back and forth I got what seemed to be pretty clear direction of where she should go, and Amy's it was! I am SO glad that is the decision we made. Molly is flourishing with her. Usually she is so reserved and shy with adults, but she took to Amy right away. She is loving going to class and I am so grateful!

Family pictures Oregon Coast

I had the idea about a week before we were leaving on our trip to hire a photographer in Oregon to take our family pictures. I searched online and found one I really liked and emailed her hoping she could fit us in. I hadn't heard back from her by the time we left, but I packed a duffel of clothes for pictures just in case. Luckily on our drive to Oregon I got an email from her saying she was willing to do it! I found out later she almost told us no because she was booked, but she said yes because she could tell I really wanted them and I was persistent. haha

We met at a beach she recommended and it ended up being a beautiful spot for the pictures. She was awesome to work with, and it was one of the easiest family photo sessions we have ever had. It was great because our kids could just play on the beach and stay entertained and not get burned out so fast. It took about a month to get the photos back, but they were worth the wait. I really love how they turned out and am so glad we got them taken!
