Carving pumpkins

We carved pumpkins this year with our friends Brian, Sam and their son Simon. Lots of pumpkin guts and lots of fun:

Drumroll please...Carved by (from left): Brian, Sam, Brian (for Simon), Jenny, Sean

I loved them all! How awesome is the Elmo?! The little boys loved that one. I got the idea for the stacked skeleton pumpkin from a magazine. I used Jackson's pumpkin for the head but I'm sure he didn't mind :) Sam's witch was awesome-- lots of little details you can't see in the photos. And I love Sean's classic jack 'o lantern with his huge smile.

Just in time for Halloween...

Count "Jack"-u-la
This photo was taken a few weeks ago when his two top side teeth made their debut.

And now we have our very own "Jack" 'o lantern!
His two top middle teeth are coming in, along with another tooth on the bottom. Five new teeth make for a pretty spooky smile! :)

Pumpkin patch

We went with my sister and her family to an awesome pumpkin patch near their home. There were tractors, wheelbarrows, a free mini corn maze and it was a great spot for some cute fall pictures. We each picked out our perfect pumpkin and will be carving them next week.

Jackson's pumpkin

This wheelbarrow was obviously made for him...

I just think this picture is adorable.

In the corn maze.

This last picture is one Sean randomly took while messing with the settings on the camera. I happen to love it because I think Jackson's eyes look cool.
I think pumpkin patches are so much more fun than picking a pumpkin out of the heap at Wal-Mart!

Moab Trip

Four years ago I went "jeepin" for the first time ever with my father and brothers-in-law. It was an awesome experience. This year we made the trek to Moab again for 2 days of sweetness. See video below:

Alpine Loop '09

We drove the loop Monday night and there is already snow in the mountains! The leaves were really pretty, although a lot of the yellows weren't out yet. You can see Sundance in the last picture off to the right-- somewhere I am hoping to visit many times this winter :)

9 months

Our little guy is 9 months old today!

A good shot of his growing curly fro
New favorite place to sit
Watching his favorite TV show: "My Friends Tigger & Pooh"
Loves mini Tootsie-Pop suckers (good thing since Sean bought an ENORMOUS bag for Halloween three years ago!)

Here are some things going on with Jackson right now:
-His four top teeth are all coming in
-Has lots of blonde, curly hair (in case you are wondering where the blonde comes from, Sean was a blondie when he was young too)
-Says "mama" and knows what it means
-Jabbers all the time and seems to carry on lengthy conversations with himself
-Loves books and turning the pages back and forth
-Crawls all over Sean and I, but when we put him on the floor he isn't interested and prefers rolling around
-Loves pictures-- especially of himself :)
-Wears 18-month clothing
-In a new carseat since he outgrew the old one
-Loves cars and trucks-- both real and toys. Every Tuesday we stand on the balcony to watch the garbage truck and he is fascinated
-Is still putting anything and everything in his mouth and loves sucking out of a straw
-Likes to sit in the bathroom sink
-Loves to go through the Sunday paper ads with me. I give him the ones I am done looking through and he tears them to shreds. He would seriously be happy doing this for hours
-Will eat green beans and dill pickles without any hesitation, but gets a funny face with applesauce
-Finally taking two naps a day regularly! They are usually only about 45 mins to an hour each, but it seems to be all he needs since he's usually a happy camper
-Is getting clingy and often gets upset when Sean or I are not right near him
-Loves clocks and ceiling fans
-Is trying to teach himself how to whistle and was successful for a few short breaths this morning ;)
I can't believe in three months he will already be a year old! Where did time go?
