Christmas tree hunt and decorating 2019
The week before Thanksgiving, we made our annual trek to cut down our Christmas tree. This year, we actually went and scouted out some trees in the fall. It proved to be a good thing because our window of time on the day we went was pretty short. We had to wait to leave until after Jackson and Bode's basketball games. It ended up working out great and being such a fun day. Maybe the best yet! I always look forward to this day so much. It's one of my favorite traditions.
We drove back to a spot we had marked on google maps. With the snow, things looked a little bit different so it still took us a little bit to find the trees we had checked out before. We scouted around for a bit, and decided we still liked the tree we found before the best.
Ours is the one on the front, right. Hard to see, but there are actually three threes in this picture all grouped together.
We were happy there was enough snow for some sledding and snow angels! It was such a beautiful afternoon.
Charlie came with us and had so much fun running through the snow! He kept racing back and forth and seemed to be having the time of his life.
The kids had fun sledding behind the car. There was one point where Jackson and Bode bailed just in time to escape being drug through a giant muddy puddle that was covered by snow!
The tree was just about the perfect height. We ended up cutting off maybe 2-3 feet when we got home. We decorated the tree the Sunday after we got back from Thanksgiving in Idaho Falls. The kids each got their new Christmas pajamas and were excited to hang the new ornaments they picked out this year.
I was excited to hang this cute ornament Sean and I bought in Riqueweihr, France on our big trip a few months prior. We also put out our new nativity we bought also.

Thanksgiving
We had another awesome Thanksgiving in Idaho Falls this year! It's always so fun spending time with both sides of the family and enjoying all of the yummy food. The kids really look forward to spending time with cousins.
With Davis's birthday being the day before Thanksgiving, he got to celebrate a little bit again (he had his party the week before). He had fun opening presents from his nana and papa and grandma and grandpa and going out to ice cream with his cousins on the Whittington side.
A few other highlights included a trip to iJump for the kids, shopping on black Friday with my mom, sister, and niece, of course yummy food, games and pie at the Permanns', and going to the movie "Frozen 2."
I always love going home for Thanksgiving!

Davis turns 6!
With Davis's birthday falling the day before Thanksgiving this year, we decided to celebrate the week before. He had his birthday party at Hang Time, which is a big trampoline/ninja playground park. He had lots of friends come celebrate and had a great time!
The older boys loved the basketball hoop/trampoline combo.
He loved his shark cake-- and thank goodness! This cake turned out to be a bit of a headache. He had picked the cake from a picture and when we picked it up, it looked nothing like it. They had put "blood" on the cake (which we had specifically asked they not include) and a bunch of purple frosting. We had them re-do it to make it more kid friendly! haha It all ended up working out great and he was happy so that is all I care about.
After his party, Davis chose dinner at Tucanos. We came home and opened presents and put him through the "spanking machine." Davis asked for a Shark Bite game and a lego set and was very happy when he got both. He's such a great kid!
