26!

Well, it's official-- I'm closer to 30 than 20 now. I don't know how I feel about that, but I did have a fabulous birthday!

The day started off with Sean making me an awesome breakfast. I tease him sometimes about hating to cook, but I'll tell you what, he has skills (he just chooses not to use them very often!). I know of at least two things he can make better than me: grilled cheese sandwiches and french toast.

Sean gave me a really cool cake stand for my birthday. I have been wanting one for a long time, and he chose one from Williams Sonoma that also turns into a punch bowl when you flip it over. I love it! My cakes will look so much cooler now. He also surprised me later in the day with a bracelet he picked out from this little local boutique I love. I love surprises! He did a good job :)

I spent most of the day just hanging out with Jackson and got a visit from my friend Heidi and her sweet girls. They brought me goodies and a pretty flower! I also spent a lot of time on the phone talking to friends and family-- one of my favorite things about birthdays.

My sister offered to babysit so Sean and I could go out to dinner. We went to Cheesecake Factory which is never a bad decision. We ordered an appetizer we hadn't tried before called "buffalo blasts" and they were so dang good and also probably one of the worst possible things for your body. We were so full after our meals that we didn't even order cheesecake-- I know, blasphemy, but before you judge let me just say that we did have leftover ice cream cake at home!

Happy Birthday! 26 is weird, but I have just gotten to the point that they are just numbers and I need to remember how old my kids are, so I let my age slip- I don't always know how old I am! Pathetic-but memory loss does come with age! I will blame that! I hope everything is going well with you guys and you little boy!

I'm glad you had a great birthday! Getting older is always hard. As long as you still feel young at heart, that's all that matters.
