Halloween!

Halloween day finally arrived and we were ready! I actually took a few pictures of the kids in their costumes the day before because Halloween is always so busy.

Jackson: the bat!

He started talking about wanting to be a bat months ago and the idea stuck. Not Batman-- a bat. ;) I think he really liked the idea of having hidden "wings." It ended up being the easiest and least expensive costume I have ever made. He gave me input on how he wanted it to look, and he LOVES this costume. It's been a lot of fun seeing how excited he is about it.

Testing his wings!

I'm throwing these two pictures in just because I think he looks so handsome and grown up!

Bode: the race car driver!

He saw this costume at Costco a few months ago, and it was love at first sight. I thought it was the perfect fit for him, seeing as he is obsessed with Hot Wheels, speed, and the movie, "Cars."

Davis: the Butterball!
This was Bode's costume when he was a baby, and I was so excited for Davis to wear it. His first birthday happens to fall on Thanksgiving Day this year, so it was perfect! He, like all of our boys have been as babies, is our little butterball with big, squishy cheeks.

He wasn't sure about the hat!

In his "roasting pan"

A few more of the older two together

We started the day by going to Jackson's costume parade at his school.

It was like a neighborhood party! Davis and his friend and next-door neighbor, Jude, showed up wearing the same outfit :)

After the parade it was on to Bode's fall preschool program.

Marching in!

He took pride in holding his ghost up as high as he could!

He and his best friend Scarlett happened to be placed right by each other. She even patted him on the back at one point in the performance. :) I could tell at the beginning Bode was nervous because he kept putting his hands in his mouth. He relaxed after the first few songs and did so great! I had no idea what to expect, but I was so proud of him.

We had our traditional chili, cornbread, and witches brew for dinner, and our friends, the Carrolls, joined us this year.

Sean and I both dressed up for trick-or-treating. He was a pretty awesome Wayne, and I was a scarecrow.
Sean passed out candy on our front porch, while I took the boys around the neighborhood. We switched a little later in the night and he and Jackson went and hit a few houses together.

Trick-or-treating at the Lamberts (Bode's favorite nursery leader)

Checking out his loot with friends (Bode had already called it a night).

This Halloween was probably my very favorite of all time. The weather was perfect, Jackson and Bode were really into it, no one was sick, and our neighborhood was so much fun. I loved walking around and seeing all of our neighbors and friends in their cute costumes!
