BYU basketball camp

We signed Jackson and Bode up for BYU basketball camp this year. They were lucky they got in! It was crazy trying to register them and the spots were taken in just a couple of minutes. Jackson stayed on campus this year with his friend Lyncoln and Bode went with his friend Jack every day. It was fun dropping the older boys off at Helamen Halls. I swear they hadn't changed at all since I stayed there when I was their age for Academy for Girls. It was strange not having Jackson home at night!

Last day of camp! They had the moms of the participants shoot a free throw. If you and your son both made it, they got a free pair of shoes. I ALMOST made it! Better luck next year, I guess!

Jackson was way excited because his team ended up being camp champs for the 8th graders. He loved his team and made some new friends. Overall, I think the boys had a really great week!

Molly's spring dance recital

Molly's spring dance recital was darling! She did a great job. It is amazing to me how comfortable she seems to feel on stage. I love that she has confidence in performing. She and her group danced to the songs "The family Madrigal" and "The Tiki Room." We of course had to take some photos with her costume, hair, and makeup all done!

Here are the professional pictures

Spring sports

I maintain spring and fall are the busiest times of year for our family because of sports. I am glad all of our kids are active and enjoy sports-- but it definitely keeps us busy!

Molly enjoyed playing co-ed soccer again. She had a few friends on the team and played hard!

Sean coached the rookies Angel baseball team for I think what was his 7th straight year! It is Davis's last year on the team. We're hoping we can convince Molly to play next spring so all of our kids will have been an Angel and have Sean as their coach! The angels this year did great-- probably their best year ever. If I remember right, they won every game except one in the regular season. Davis did so well. He played pitcher and first base, had lots of big hits, and loved having so many friends on the team. Davis also played soccer with his same team, but I didn't snap any team pictures this season.

Bode jumped up to the cubs majors baseball team this year. He also had a really great season with several home run hits. In this pic he is holding up a '2' for his two home runs that game.

After his regular baseball season, he was asked to sub in on a competitive baseball team for a kid who broke his arm. He got to play some pretty high caliber games and held his own. I was proud of him for stepping in not knowing anyone and playing hard.

This spring was also the end of an era for Bode's soccer team he's been playing with for years. His head coach decided it was his last season, so the team dissolved. This team was so much fun to watch and I was so impressed with these boys. Bode loved playing on this team and it was really sad to see it come to an end.

Jackson played spring lacrosse again and enjoyed having buddies back on the team. He also played tennis, but I can't seem to find the pictures on my phone!

Mother's Day

I had a fantastic Mother's Day this year and these kids and Sean made me feel very loved and valued. I appreciate them for loving me so much despite my imperfections. I truly feel so lucky to be the one these guys call mom. It was such a beautiful day and I had to take a picture of Molly with the bright pink blossoms!

Bode runs for student council

Bode decided he wanted to follow in his older brother's footsteps and run for student council for 6th grade. To run he had to get approval from the teachers and school administration and then make a campaign poster and video. It ended up being a lot of fun! He had a lot of friends help for his video and I made his poster online. He ended up winning a spot on student council and was really excited. I am proud of him for putting himself out there. It takes guts!

Molly's Easter dress 2022

This year's Easter dress collaboration with Molly and I was a lot of fun. Molly knew she wanted a blue dress and helped pick out that fabric. I picked the floral to go with it. I chose the sleeve length, and she decided she wanted to have a stripe along the bottom of the sleeves to match the bottom of the dress. I added the tall ruffle collar and tie in the back. I didn't have a pattern for the collar or tie and sort of had to wing it with those elements (along with adding the contrasting stripe in the dress) but thankfully it all worked out and I think it is so cute! She loves it, too! I think we make a good team and I love this tradition of ours.

I made matching bowties for the boys, too. I let them each pick which coordinating fabric they wanted theirs made out of.

Easter 2022

Our tradition of dyeing eggs and going to the Pleasant Grove Easter egg hunt continued this year. The egg hunt was great. This was the first year all of our kids had graduated from collecting eggs off of the tennis courts. Our dyed eggs included gnomes and robots, along with the traditional dyed ones. We were so busy with spring sports and birthdays this year we almost ran out of time to dye eggs. We dyed them just in time the day before Easter and a few hours before Bode's birthday party!

The Easter Bunny came!

All dressed up in their new Easter bowties and dress for Easter Sunday.
