Easter 2013

We kicked the weekend off dyeing Easter eggs. We got a dinosaur egg kit this year, and the boys loved it. Bode was quite a handful during the process (dropping eggs from a foot above into the glass, splashing the dye everywhere, etc.) but he sure did love it. Jackson dyed almost all of his eggs green, of course!

The festivities continued on Saturday, when we joined the Ogdens and took the kids to the Pleasant Grove Easter egg hunt. I loved how they had different age groups. Sean went with Jackson to his area, and I stayed with Bo. Besides starting a half hour later than advertised, it was awesome!

Patiently waiting

Every once in awhile Bode would bolt through the eggs and try to snag one early! I must say, I was impressed with his footwork.

Both of the boys got a ton of eggs and we were really impressed with the quality (and amount!) of candy in each egg. I think we may have a new tradition…

Love this picture of these best buddies.

Jackson was SO excited for the egg hunt, and I think it is safe to say he was pretty happy with how it turned out!

The boys didn't even put up a fight to go to bed Saturday night. They woke up Sunday to find the Easter Bunny had visited during the night. Easter is pretty low-key in our household. They got the usual candy and some small things like bubbles, sunglasses, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle watch, etc. They were excited to see "Wreck it Ralph" and "Peter Pan" propped up against their baskets.

Ready for church!

And if you are wondering, I don't love Bode more-- Jackson just wouldn't let me take any more pictures of him. First he was too cold in the shade and then it was too bright in the sun! hahaha

Church was really nice. I particularly enjoyed the musical number "Be Still My Soul" by a brother in our ward and our combined Relief Society and Priesthood meeting where we talked about testimonies and being converted in Christ.

Finally, Sean surprised me Saturday with an Easter lilly. These always remind me of my grandma, who passed away a little over a year ago. It smells amazing and I think of her when I look at it.

I am grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of His atoning sacrifice, my family can be eternal.

We hope you had a good Easter, too.
